| 1.,Q. Can I submit any type of AD? A. No. We accept only ADs offering products and/or a service either at a Reduced-Price, On Sale, or, at a Discounted Price. Also, the AD must not contain any "adult/foul" language, or obscene phrases, and must not be discriminatory in nature. Any AD that contains such bad language will not be posted. 2. Q. How do I post an AD?: A.On the home page of Productsonsale.com or in any other page, click on the Post Ads link in the navigation bar, you will then be taken to the Post Ads; page. Select a category in which you want your Ad to be listed and fill out the form. It is important you fill out the form correctly and accurately to enable people who are looking for your specific information to contact you. When you have filled out the form, click on the submit Ad button, a preview of how your Ad will look like will be displayed for you. To make changes, use your browser back function to go back to the Post Ads form. Otherwise, if you are satisfied with the information you entered, click on the Submit Ad button for final submission. If your Ad is successfully posted, you'll then see an acknowledgment page. 3., Q. What information do I need to post an Ad? A. To post a classified Ad, you will need to supply the information requested in the registration form. The information includes your name, your email, your contact address, your phone number, URL address (if any), Ad duration, and Ad text. Your contact address and phone number are only required for our records only, it will not be posted to your Ad. Unless you so desire. Your email will be hidden in the Ad, it is only the name you supplied and the URL address (if any) that will be posted to the Ad. 4., Q. I receive an error message when I try to submit an Ad: A. Go back to the Post Ads form and make sure that all the required fields are properly filled and try submitting your Ad again. 5., Q. What information do I need to log on to my account area? A. To log on to your account area, you will need your password and your Ad number. 6., Q. If I forget my Ad number or my password, can I still log on? A. No, to log on, you must enter your password and the Ad number accurately. If you forget your Ad number, search the system for your Ad using keywords. When found, the Ad number is located above the Ad. We advice that you make a note of your password. 7., Q. Can I renew, edit, upload a photo image to, or delete my Ad? A. Yes, you can edit or delete your Ad. To do this, click on the Renew/Edit link on the navigation menu in any of the pages, you will then be taken to the Renew/Edit page. In this page, you will be able to: i. Renew your Ad. ii. Edit your Ad. iii. Upload photo-image to you Ad. iv. Delete your Ad. To perform any of the listed task above, you will need your Ad number which was supplied to you when you first posted your Ad and the password you entered while creating your account. If you forget your Ad number, search the system for your Ad using know keywords. When found, the Ad number is located above the Ad. We advice that you make a note of your password. i. To Renew your Ad: Ad must be renewed before the expiration date, otherwise, you will need to post a new Ad. Go to the renewing Ad section in the page. Enter your Ad number and password in the form field and click on Display Ad button, if the password and Ad number entered are correct, your Ad information will be displayed ii. Editing your Ad. Ad can only be edited prior to the expiration date of the Ad. Go to the Editing your Ad section in the page. Enter your Ad number and your password in the form field and click on the Display Ad button, if your password and your Ad number are correct, your Ad will be displayed. Once your Ad is displayed, you can then make the necessary changes you want to make, and click on the Submit Ad button to review the changes you made. If you are satisfied with the changes, click on the Submit Ad button for final submission. Otherwise, use the back function on your browser to make any adjustment. iii. Uploading a photo-image to your Ad. Image to be uploaded must be in GIF or JPG format and must not exceed 33 K in size, 250 pixel in height and 350 pixel in width. Go to the Upload photo image section in the page. Enter the image file name on your local drive or use the browse button to locate the image in your local drive. Enter your Ad number and password and click on the Upload image button once. If your password and Ad number are correct and the image meets to the required specification, an acknowledgment page with you image displayed on it will appear. iv. To delete your Ad Go to the Delete Ad section in the page. Enter the Ad number and your password in the form field and click on the Display button, if your password and Ad number are correct, your Ad will be displayed for you. If you are sure you want to delete your Ad, click on the Delete Ad button and your Ad will be deleted from the system. 8., Q. Any Tip on writing a good Ad text? A. Browse through other classified Ads, if you see a classified Ad text that catches your attention, you may consider doing something similar. Here are some tips on writing good Ad text: i. Be specific about what you are selling or seeking. ii. Give a concise description of the item: e.g. its colour, age, condition, special features, size etc. Use keywords and phrases you think someone looking for your product type will search for. Make your keywords plural so that if a search is made in either singular or plural form of the word, you can still be found. For example, if you write books, a search of either book or books will find your AD; but, if you write book, only search of book will find your AD and a search of books will not. iii. Give the price of the item and state if the price is negotiable. You will get more response if you include price in your Ad. iv. If the offer is to last for a specific period, state the periods. v. If you are selling a car, a boat, a garage, an estate etc., it is necessary you display your contact address and phone number for easy response. vi. Photo images are very important, Ads with photo receive more response. vii. Do not type your Ad in all caps. This is considered shouting or rude. viii. Check your spelling before submitting your Ad. 9., Q. Can I use HTML tags anywhere in my Ad? A. No, html tags are stripped off from all Ads. 10., Q. I am not seeing my Ad using the keyword search? A. The most likely cause of this, is not entering keywords related to your Ads. Try searching again by entering keywords that are related to your Ad. See the keyword search help for possible tip on keywords. 11., Q. I am not seeing any Ads (or not the right Ads) when I search? A. If you are not finding what you are looking for, see the keyword search help for tips on how to search. Also, it could be that there are no ADs containing the words you searched for. 12., Q. Why is my photo-image not posted to my Ad? I uploaded my photo-image which is in GIF format and within the size specified in the system, but it has not been posted to my Ad site. A. The most likely reason why your Ad is not posted is because it contains obscene pictures or images. Contact the webmaster for full detail. 13., Q. How do I contact someone who has posted a classified Ad. A. Usually, each classified Ad contains reply link to the person who has posted the Ad Clicking on the name of the person posted in the Ad, will cause the program to display a reply Ads form where you can send a message to the person who posted the Ad. Some Ads also have in display, the email address of the poster, the contact address phone number, and/or website address. 14., Q. What information do I put in the Ads text field? A. A good classified Ad requires you to give a concise and descriptive text. If you are posting a classified Ad advertising a car, it is necessary you give the model, make, year, price (indicate if the price is negotiable) etc. If you are announcing a garage sale, be sure to give the exact time and location of the garage sales and describe some of the items that will be available. If you are posting a classified Ad, advertising a piece of Real estate for sale or for rent, tell them the number of bedrooms, bathrooms, location of the estate and other amenities available and the price. 15, Q.
